Ivy park pushes the limit in casual streetwear by providing it’s customer with gender neutral athleisure wear.
The inspiration derived from the lines fluidity between both street and gym workout attire. Utilizing current trends from 2019 such as biker shorts and heavily pocketed joggers. While focusing on body contouring through illusion corsets and midriff cut-outs.
This was my very first time developing a clothing line through adobe photoshop and illustrator.
The Ask.
To begin with the desired country and through sourced images develop a mood board. Draw colors and symbol inspiration from the mood board to then create a line that builds on a pre-existing athleisure brand.
A trip to North Africa.
It all begin with my desire to travel especially to the continent where life began. During my freshman year the brand Ivy park was on trend through there use of intertwining street and activewear. My choice of Ivy Park was due to the lack of bright colors and intricate and complex patterns.
Source it.
In photoshop I utilized the eyedropper tool to draw colors from the mood board above. I kept the darker hue within the colors to not stray to far away from Ivy Parks ideal look. In addition to pulling the symbols from the mood board by tracing the images.
We then created patterns within illustrator and duplicated them utilizing different color ways.
During my pattern creation I focused on the concept of repetition. Establishing the importance of the symbols within Moroccan culture.
