The land of the free?
Plot structure “these are basically” the steps a story takes to achieve a well rounded beginning, middle, and end. Our theme tells a story of demanding change within society. The initial slide is a tool to guide one through the story of the people. Each panel portrays a major key points within the story. These key points include disapproval, protest, force, aftermath, rebuild, and new beginnings.
Fusarium wilt is a fungus that originates in the soil that travels up the plants vascular system essentially rotting the plant from the inside out.
This concept was developed through the idea that citizens represent fusarium wilt. In the concept that the people are dismantling our government and class system in an aim for tranquility, new beginnings, and equality.
The Ask.
To begin with the current zeitgeist or spirit or mood of the time period and generate a fashion forecast for women’s wear spring/summer 2023.
The zeitgeist of 2020.
Within the past years America has undergone vast amounts of developments in every aspect of society, especially technology and communication; amplifying the voice of the moment. These moments include the Black Lives Matter movement, COVID-19 pandemic, Global warming, Homelessness, and much more. Our mood board presents the current zeitgeist of societal restraints, inequality, and a demanding need for change within all of the background images. Similarly, to when adding a post-it note to a finalized textbook; our post-it notes represent the people rewriting or creating their own future; evident through the growth of plants and sun rise peeking through the deteriorating post-it. The board is sealed( a form of authentication) with a lotus flower which is symbolic of regeneration and rebirth.
Words.
We started off with words that symbolize our concept fusarium wilt. Most if not all sources of news come from the internet or a digital device. The sufficient amount of open tabs stresses the idea of communication through technology, through the evident “websearch” of fusarium wilt the words that coincide with our theme are presented. Each diction highlights the theme of re-establishment and the process to get there.
Cycle a key word within the bank, is a representation of the 60s. During this time they dealt with issues of race that included the 1960 civil rights movement. In addition to the Korean and Vietnam war and Watergate they also experience political scandals that made people no longer view the government as a positive light, very reflective of today’s views.
A means to an end….
This mood board embodies the idea of revolt and the start of something new. The colors were taken from key zeitgeist symbols which include PPE mask, chains, and sunrise.
